SMALL CHANGE – BIG DIFFERENCE!
Micro Extensions can make a huge difference to your home.
In this project, adding a tiny bedroom addition of only 4 square metres, allows for a full bank of cabinets, and a built in day bed!
FRAME OF MIND
The next exciting step in the building process is the framework. The client can really start to see individual rooms and structures, and how this will all translate. This is the fireplace under construction..
AND SO IT BEGINS
The day that the slab goes down is such an exciting one for clients.. and this slab certainly was a big one! The infinity pool was also formed up at the front of the block.

FROM GO TO WOE
This is the house warming gift I bought for my client, after they recently moved into their beautiful new home on the Sunshine Coast. One of the most rewarding things about being an interior designer, is watching peoples dreams come to reality, and this was no exception! SOCIAL ARTWORK
Social media can be an amazing source of inspiration on a global scale. This Japanese illustrator Kaori is one of my favourites. You can check out her gallery on instagram @kaoripeace and buy some of her work at www.kaori-lovepeace.wix.com/kaori-love-peace
FABRICS TO DIE FOR
Received an early showing of new fabrics for the season from the wonderful Unique Fabrics in Brisbane. With botanicals still very much on trend. Check out these ones by Shangri-La. www.uniquefabrics.com.au
PANTONE COLOUR OF THE YEAR 2015
So happy to see some red starting to emerge! Introducing Pantone Colour Of the Year – Marsala! A rich chocolatey red, a perfect addition to your interior cushions accessories or appliances.
BIRDS OF A FEATHER
Metalic dipped Dove feathers would be a great way to dress your table, tree or gifts this Xmas, and it’s something that the kids can make themselves!

ALL WRAPPED UP
This Xmas, use up to date interior trends and transfer to your present wrapping. Opt for natural textured or recycled paper, and dress with muted earthy colours, and add a touch of Xmas with feathers, tree sprigs, or bells.

CERAMICS COMEBACK!!
As a former ceramist, with my own homewares range, I am thrilled to see a returning trend to truly handmade goods.
HARGREAVES BATHROOM
My client was a single business woman, and very much wanted a bathroom, personalised just for her. She wanted a touch of glamour with feminine touches, and dreamt of a larger shower.
FIRST HOME BUYERS
My clients had recently bought their first house, and while they were happy to wait to complete the other rooms, they wanted to at least have a bedroom that they felt happy to sleep in.
MOFFAT KITCHEN
The owner of this property came to me a little overwhelmed to say the least! They had bought a 1970s two story house (sight unseen) which was very run down.
STORAGE WOES
The owners had a small sized kitchen that was not functioning very well. There was nowhere near enough storage space. Next to the Kitchen they had placed a day bed that was crammed with stored items.
SMALL LIVING SPACE
The room was very small, and dark, with only one small bay window on the eastern side. The client’s house was a cute older cottage, so they wanted to create a classic style living space, with a formal feel, that was a little retro.
1980’s EXTERIOR MAKEOVER
Design for the Inside can look after your in-need exterior also, and this project was no exception!! With very dated red brick, and a ray of sunshine on top of the garage as a feature, it was screaming 1980’s.
JIMMY POSSUM
I recently rekindled a long term love for Australian made Jimmy Possum furniture. His mix of rustic recycled timbers with unique upholstery is to be adored.
LIGHT vs. STORAGE
Our room faces to the North, but the room is dark, as there is no window. We also really need additional storage. We would like to install a big window, but the room faces straight onto the neighbours’ deck.
3D CONCEPT DRAWINGS
I have recently been experimenting with 3D software in a bid to provide customers who would like an overall visual concept of their design along with their CAD Drawings.
MONEY SAVER
Free in home visit with Design for the Inside leads to great result….! I recently had a client contact me about a downstairs area in her house that she couldn’t see a solution to.
RENTERS PLIGHT…
I am renting a small cottage, that is very cute, but really boring, with beige walls. Can you suggest a way to inject some personality into the living room? I would like to paint or use wallpaper, but my landlord will not approve.
MAKE AN IMPRESSION IN THE BEDROOM!
Celebrating my wedding anniversary made me reminisce about how far along the road my husband and I have travelled…
